North Miami Beach Physical Therapy: What to Expect on Your First Visit

A step-by-step walkthrough of what your first visit at Everything Physical Therapy actually looks like — how long it takes, what we test, and what you leave with.

The single biggest source of pre-visit anxiety is not knowing what happens. Here's the full picture. ## Before you arrive We verify your insurance benefits before your first visit at no cost. That means when you walk in, you already know what you owe and whether your plan requires a referral. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in, and bring a government-issued ID, your insurance card, and any relevant imaging or medical reports. ## The evaluation (60–90 minutes) Your initial visit is an extended one-on-one evaluation with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We talk through what's going on, how it started, what makes it better or worse, and what you need to be able to do again. Then we test — movement, strength, joint mobility, nerve involvement where relevant. The goal is to find the source of the problem, not just where it hurts. ## Your plan Before you leave, you'll have a clear picture of what we found, what the plan looks like, and how many sessions we anticipate. If manual therapy or shockwave therapy fits, you may start it in that first visit. ## Going forward Standard treatment sessions are 60 minutes and one-on-one. You'll work with the same clinician throughout your care — continuity is not an accident here.
